We are grateful for every donation, and we are explicit about where it goes: into regenerating this land, and into making it a lighthouse of reconnection and regeneration.
Alongside donations, we are looking for partners and sponsors for specific work.
We are seeking partners to fund programmes for local youth: bringing young people into the upgrading and caretaking of the place, and creating real jobs and work opportunities for those who struggle to find a good entry into working life. Practical skills, a community to belong to, and the experience of building something that lasts.
We are looking for sponsors for a programme connecting elders and wisdom keepers from the Sámi tradition with young aspiring leaders, artists, facilitators and space holders.
Oslo is home to the largest Sámi population in Norway. We want this place just outside the city, to become a hub for those meetings, and a bridge.
To anchor that work we are seeking support to build a large lavvo and a large drum.
We have several art projects underway. The largest is the transformation of the barn into an art and innovation space, equipped for artists young and old to come and create.
We are also making a brass gate for the estate in the shape of the O, echoing the Sámi symbol of protection.
We are building a large outdoor communal kitchen, designed as an education centre where we can teach about food and resources while cooking. Housed in a glass dome so it can be used through most of the year, it will include growing space: food taken directly from the plant to the plate. And will connect to the community gardens opening next year.
